Peter Burman and Phillip Olson reporting

We’re on an adventure through the vast Wisconsin wilderness on a coach bus.  It is currently sunny and 82, but we are bracing ourselves for the shock upon landing in Anchorage to a scorching 42 degrees. We are happy to report that no one has died yet, as far as we know. Yes, rest assured, Jake Possing is still alive. Although, the trip is still young….

Before we embarked on our trip, we held a worship service with the help of Cedarville University’s Heartsong.  We discussed what we plan to accomplish in the week ahead.  Our key verse for the trip is from Philippians 3:13 which states, “One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind, I strain forward to what lies ahead.” This verse challenges us to set aside all of our personal distractions that we have at home, and shift our focus to the task of serving Christ at Victory Bible Camp in Sutton, Alaska.

We are looking forward to the opportunity to grow in our relationships with Christ, and return transformed.  We’re excited to see what tasks will be presented to us upon our arrival and how through accomplishing them we will glorify God.  Whether through manual labor, or the interactions we have with the campers and staff, we hope to exemplify Christ’s love wherever we are.

In closing, we are excited about this quest we are embarking on.  As Peter tells me, Chuck Norris can smack the ugly off a moose.  We hope to smuggle a baby moose home with us and show it the amazing wilderness we call Wisconsin.

Throughout the progression of this trip, the blog will be updated by fellow missions team members. Stay tuned for further updates.

Bye (That’s “bye” in Alaskan)
