“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb 12:1, 2 The Cross was never meant to be a symbol of expectation and wonder. Yet God has a way of turning even the ugliest things man can create into a testimony of His glory and grace. Jesus turned the cruel picture of torment into a message of hope and deliverance. “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” Col. 1:18 We are no longer creatures of this sinful hopeless world but through Jesus’ cross (that even unbelievers) use to sell candy and decorations this week, we have a new life and home above and beyond our everyday existence! He has and can redeem even the worst of things that come our way. As you contemplate and celebrate the work of the Lord Jesus in your life this week, would you also remember in prayer all of those who serve the risen Christ across the world? Please pray for safety, encouragement, fruitfulness, boldness, and courage to keep listening to God and obeying Him. May the Lord pour out His Holy Spirit to empower His ministry through His children to truly glorify Jesus. We pray you also will be able to lift your eyes past the struggles and temporary comforts of here and now, and then, for the joy set before us, continue to serve and trust Him as we wait on that final day and trumpet sound! YES, HE IS RISEN HE IS RISEN INDEED ! Blessings, Doug & Cheryl Boisvert TRI-M Africa, and Mongolia |
