"I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you."
I am so glad we can count on Isaiah 48:17, our featured verse, as truth!  So often we are inadequate, facing one limitation or another; but God is always sufficient and always at work.  It is our great joy to share what God has invested in us, and to lift Him high before others.  As we left Uganda, a spokesperson for the women said, "... and we promise you that we will do all that you have taught us."  May we all say the same to our Lord and Savior!  As I write these words, Cheryl and I are on our way home to the frozen Midwest from steamy East Africa!  We have had a fruitful trip, even though 138 hours of it was traveling: in planes, cars, taxis, cuddle buses, and big Greyhound-like buses.  But the satisfaction of seeing the growth of the men and the training programs taking on lives of their own is worth it all.

Uganda:  Since we were last at BEST (Bukeeka Evangelical School of Theology), Pastor Robert has recruited and begun to teach a second certificate-level class.  He is sharing the teaching responsibilities with three other Pastors.  It is so wonderful to see local leadership taking initiative in many areas, while I (Doug) work with the upper-level students.

Tanzania:  Our local coordinator, Pastor Michael, has begun a new training site in this village, where a southern Baptist missionary formerly had established a training center.  At Michael's request, we went with him for the first module.  It was a place of very basic instruction, due to limited opportunities for education.

Kenya:  We mentioned earlier that five of Doug's students and their wives, who are Cheryl's students, have started "home church" on Tuesday evenings in their homes.  The purpose is for fellowship and to meet local needs among members of the Stage Jesus Church, but it will also be the jumping off point for evangelistic efforts in each location.

Thank you for partnering with us to train leaders who can teach others also.

Doug and Cheryl Boisvert,
Tri-M Africa
