An introduction to Pastor David's Message

Some topics never seem to come up in the course of daily conversations and yet they are important. The problem is that living squeezes them out. The urgent replaces the valuable. Circumstances seldom lend themselves to broaching these subjects. Taking care of the mundane requirements of living trumps the deeper and tender things in our hearts.

Then time runs out. They start kindergarten. There is a new job in another state. Graduation. You start working part-time. They get married. No more afternoon naps. Soccer leagues. An unexpected passing. The unsaid must now be shared.

What needs saying while there still is the opportunity? Perhaps more importantly the question is, what needs hearing? Do we really need another challenge to succeed or accomplish more. Is one more reminder to fulfill the duties of life really necessary?

Grace. Blessing. Love. Forgiveness. Hope. Promise. Future. None of these seem to be the normal fare of daily conversation. Before our conversations conclude though, they need to be said and we desperately need to hear them.

This coming weekend is the final Sunday of 2012. Do we need a parting challenge or reminder? Maybe. Do we need to hear about grace, blessing, etc.? Absolutely! Often in the weekly challenges of following Jesus, we miss this theme in worship as well. So before the year is out we will say what needs to be said. Nearly every New Testament letter ended on this theme. This is how we will end the year.

Come and be encouraged before we begin a new year. Services begin at 9:00am and 10:30am.
