You Can Count on It

A McDonalds cheeseburger in Asheville Tennessee is the same as one in Rapid City South Dakota. You can count on it.

The Walgreens 800 miles from here on your vacation will have your same prescription information as the one around the corner. You can count on it.

Tomorrow morning regardless of the weather, the Sun will come up. You can count on it.

When you are in a hurry, the line you choose will always have the old lady who needs a price check. You can count on it.

No matter who you are, where you were raised, how much money you have, the color of your skin, the job you go to, the amount you go to church, how loved you were as a kid, how good you have become… your every thought, intention and action begins from a heart and soul infected with sin. You can count on it.

“All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God”

This is not something to run from. It is a truth to embrace and overcome.

My 1947 Ford Tractor will not start unless it is choked. You can count on it. This is not something to run from. It is a truth to embrace and overcome. And it starts every time. When I choke it…

Our sinfulness is not a sentence to sinning or condemnation. It is the reality we live with. It is the disease we must overcome. It is the future we can alter. The propensity we neutralize.

Ignoring our sinfulness is like ignoring a cancer. It does not go away. When we accept our condition we can live with the treatment and care to overcome. We may all be sinful, but because of Jesus, we can overcome, thrive and live.
