Theme:  Honor

Honor is letting someone know you see how valuable they really are. Showing honor demonstrates that we see others as God sees them. Every person we meet has value to God and deserves our honor.

This month’s theme verse is: “Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.” Romans 12:10, NIrV.  Through Bible stories from the life of David, we will learn how he showed honor to others and to God.  Through David’s actions we will learn about ways to honor others by putting them first, giving them a chance, and by keeping our promises.  We will also learn that we honor God by giving him the credit for the success in our lives.

We’d love to hear about a time that your kids showed honor to someone else in a big or small way.  Some examples are holding the door open for an elderly person, helping a parent without being asked, or making a donation of their own time or money to a charity.  Send an e-mail to Linda.Koetz@racinefellowship.org, post a message on the Fellowship Facebook page, or slip a note to the Bible story teachers on Sunday!  We want to surprise them by shining a spotlight on their good deeds when we draw a note from the Honor Box each week this month.
