We are very excited for the start of a new ministry year and a new format in Kids Connect!  Starting September 8th, we will begin our expanded children’s programming.

At 10 AM we will start off in the large group “Power Up” room for our Bible story and music worship time.  This month’s theme is Survivor:  Phobia Island!  Our life application is courage being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you’re afraid.  Through Bible stories about the lives of Joseph, Moses, Joshua and Caleb, as well as Abraham, we will learn that as we approach scary situations, we can remember that God is big enough to handle anything.

During the 10 AM hour we will also enjoy games in the gym, and towards the end of this month, we will work on a service project for the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.  Starting next week, we will also begin collecting an offering each week that will go towards postage for shipping out the OCC shoebox gifts.

If your family is heading home after the 10 AM service, please pick your children up in the “Chill Out” room at the very end of the Kids Connect hallway.  But we do hope you stay for the expanded family growth hour.

During the growth hour, children will be connected to a small group of friends and leader. They will participate in activities and discussion to help them understand how the Bible stories apply to their lives and help them grow in their walk with Christ.  Each week during small group, children will receive a God Time devotional card to work on at home either with an adult or independently.  Monthly, we will send home a Scripture Memory Verse Card for the kids to work on at home, and bring back each week.  If your child is participating in small groups, we recommend that you purchase a binder for the God Time and Scripture Memory Cards.
